柳沢さん、MignotさんのBreakthrough Prizeセレモニーが２年越しにサンタモニカで開催されました。レオナルド・ディカプリオやジョディ・フォスターといったセレブリティが見守る中、受賞者の貢献を紹介するフィルムや人物に続いてトロフィー授与とスピーチという構成で、受賞者にはGLP1創薬研究者、蛋白質デザインのDavid Baker、塩基編集のDavid Liuが含まれ、シーアのアンストッパブルでフィナーレを迎えました。
The Breakthrough Prize, renowned as the “Oscars of Science”, recognizes the world’s top scientists working in the fundamental sciences. The ceremony is an annual celebration to honor the new laureates and introduce them to the public. It is broadcast globally and features short films about the scientists and their work, presentations by celebrities and live music from world-renowned artists. The evening draws together the stars of science with leading figures from the worlds of technology, business and entertainment.
